Convert Steps into Distance
We all try to do our best to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Whether we take the stairs instead of the elevator, park farther away and walk a little longer or simply by doing our daily tasks of laundry, grocery shopping and walking the dog. It turns out that we get quite a bit of exercise already.
Experts say that it takes a minimum of 10,000 steps a day to maintain a healthy lifestyle. These 10,000 steps translate into about 5 – 7 miles (9-12 kms) per day, depending on your stride, of course.
A way to measure this is by using a pedometer. This is a portable electronic device that counts each step a person takes by detecting the motion of the person’s hips.
10,000 steps may seem like a lot and f you are one to strap on a pedometer to measure how many steps you take, you may be surprised. But it’s hard to convert what all these steps mean in distance, if we were moving in a straight line. So we offer a couple of pedometers converters to help you find our just how far you’d be moving.
